Location: Salem, OR
Job Type: Full and Part Time
Wage Range: $25 to $50 an hour
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to fuel systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, and emissions control systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Disassemble and reassemble engines and components as necessary for repair or replacement.
- Ensure all repairs are performed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Document all work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostics findings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair recommendations, timelines, and cost estimates.
Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of diesel vehicles and equipment systems.
- Experience working on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to learn and use scan tool equipment for diagnosis and repair.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with management and co-workers.
Additional Qualifications Desired:
- Current CDL.
- Prior ASE Training or Certification.
- Welding and Fabrication Skills/Experience.
